This museum is house to 80 working antique vehicles that highlight the evolution of the automobile and the history of motor vehicles in Alaska. The automobiles that are on display in the Fountainhead Antique Auto Museum belong to the pre-World War II era. A visit to the museum will offer you a trip back into the rugged formative years of Alaska.

The Fountainhead Antique Auto Museum also has large historic photos and videos that bring life to the emerging Alaska of the early 20th century. Apart from the automobiles, the museum also has a Vintage Clothing section that explores the ways fashion has changed in Alaska over eight decades. The entry ticket to Fountainhead Antique Auto Museum cost $10 for per adult and $5 for per child aged between six and twelve. Entry to the museum for kids aged five and under is free.

University of Alaska Museum of the North

Your trip to Fairbanks is incomplete if you don’t visit University of Alaska Museum of the North. Visit this museum and its award winning galleries to discover stories about the people, places and wildlife of Alaska. The center of attraction at the museum is a 36,000-year-old Ice Age bison that has been preserved using permafrost. The museum also houses ‘The Place Where You Go to Listen’, which is an ever-changing sound and light environment driven by the real-time position of the sun, moon, earthquakes and aurora activity.

Pioneer Park

The park which was earlier called ‘Alaskaland’ was renamed as Pioneer Park in the year 2001. The Pioneer Park is bordered by the Chena River in the north. The park designed on the lines of a historical theme is an attempt to recreate Alaskan old days. The Pioneer Air Transportation Museum inside the park holds aviation history of Alaska. You can take the MACS Blue or Red Line bus to reach the Pioneer Park.

Ice Museum

A hot sunny day in Fairbanks won’t feel hot once you enter the ice museum. Apart from life-size ice displays, this museum has a freezer to help you feel like it is 20 degrees below zero. Chena Hot Springs
